Cat Camp is Texas State’s extended orientation experience to help new students confidently transition into life as a Bobcat.

Led by passionate student leaders, Cat Camp introduces incoming students to Texas State pride, traditions, and the spirit that defines our community.

Throughout the program, our staff fosters connection, shares the history that shapes our campus, and helps students build meaningful relationships with their peers.

General Information

Who can attend?

New first-year and transfer students.
If student is under the age of 18, additional waivers are required to attend and participate.

Check-In and Check-Out

DAY 1:
Check-in at Cibolo and Alamito Hall
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
No check in after 5:00 PM

DAY 2:
Check-out at Cibolo and Alamito Hall
3:45 PM - Parent arrival
4:00 PM - Release

Roommate Assignments

Roommates are randomly prior to the start of a session and by gender.

We do not provide housing or activities for family members or guardians during the program.

Cost, Cancellation, & Refund Policy

Cost

$210.00 per student

Fee covers lodging, meals, t-shirts, and all the fun activities and memories along the way. 

Cancellation

Contact catcamp@txstate.edu at least 48 hours prior to start of program to cancel.

Refund Policy

Refunds must be formally requested via our Refund Request Form by the following dates:

  • May 1, 2026 - 100% Refund
  • June 1, 2026 - 50% Refund
